Ghost Riders Of Jaipur

High speed & adrenaline rush is common in 21st century.

The statistics of road accidents in past decade have been on a high scale with 1, 37,000 lives having been lost in 2013 alone. But does that stop the youth from doing stunts on roads? No, Not at all. Illegal bike racing and illegal stunt shows are very much the in-thing for the youth of Jaipur, mainly because of internet and viral videos on YouTube. We spoke to a bike racer in Jaipur. He told us the condition of anonymity about the rules and regulations and the venues of the stunts on the sly.

For some youngsters, illegal bike racing is also a source of income.
It takes place twice a month in, Malviyanagar, vidhyadharnagar and Jhotwara.
The bikers shuffle through the places and the race is sponsored by unknown people. The price money is decided based on the betspeople place on a particular race or racer. The racer told us that 10 deaths have caused by the illegal bike races since 2015 in Jaipur. But none of those deaths was attributed to racing. The biker also told us that bike modifications are a big business because of illegal racing. The garages for these kinds of works are located in Malviya Nagar and Ajmeri Gate areas.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     (Report By Nirbhay Kumar, Ajay Kasana, Aryan Malik)

No Degree, No Certificate, only Skill

An initiative by barefoot college and JECRC University.

Mr. Subrojit, head of educational cell at barefoot visited the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, on January 3, 2019.
The barefoot college is a platform which connects rural communities to education, professions and advocacy. Many individuals control their lives and the well being of  communities. Mr. Subrojit was given a warm welcome by the Department and after visiting the studio he got to know about some amazing activities which takes place like the daily newspaper which is known as "The Message" is being published by the students every working day and he listened to the radio bulletin which is known as "The Voice" on the SoundCloud recorded by the students. He also appreciated The TV talk which is being hosted by the students of third year of BAJMC Department. He was glad to know about the books being written and published by the students. For more than 40 years , the Barefoot College has designed new ways to nurture and support a journey to empowerment, one village at a time , one woman at a time. We demystify and decentralize the technology and put new tools in the hands of the rural poor with a singular objective of spreading self-sufficiency and sustainability. With a geographic focus on the least developed countries , we train women worldwide as solar engineers, innovators and educators, who then return to their villages to bring electricity.
